ADL Unable to Perform

While most major medical conditions have a higher proportion of persons age 18 years and older who are unable to perform ADL or to work, the much higher incidence of musculoskeletal conditions results in the highest limitation rates. For example, 60% of persons with a circulatory condition report they are unable to work because of the condition, while 48% of persons with a musculoskeletal condition report this. However, the rate per 1,000 persons in the general population unable to work is 28.5 for a musculoskeletal condition, compared to 17.4 for persons with a circulatory condition.
