While soft tissue sarcomas can be found among all ages, the incidence increases after the age of 55 years. Once a person reaches age 85 years or older, the incidence of diagnosis drops sharply. Males are diagnosed with soft tissue sarcomas at a slightly higher age than females. Blacks are diagnosed an average of 10 years earlier than those who are White.
